Divine Light
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
The air is buzzing iron; diamagnetic forces of photonic bliss pin me and turn me into a heating stone on a bright summer morning.
Irides shiver and convulse with physiological urge.
Squeezing themselves to nigh pinpricks, my pupils try to reduce the sizzle of my screaming retinas. Dewy lashes flutter as I fight to keep my eyelids wrenched open.
I feel the giddy of a crushing schoolgirl and the jaws of death all at once.
Awakening to a world unfamiliar to her, Uri finds herself living with Cas, an angel who hit her with her car. She's entranced, fixated on her halo, her heavenly glow. Uri asks to stay with her, not knowing what it is she's signing up for.
Cas just hit a girl with her car. Whoops. She can't take her to the hospital, and the girl seems to want to live with her. Why not give her a chance? After all, humans are the reason she's here in the first place.

What a wonderful game, I found it incredibly compelling. The style of the prose, the interface and the art itself had this mesmerizing quality that really did make me feel like what Uri felt firsthand. Cas is such an incredible character, flaws and all. She’s so sympathetic and alluring and… magnetic to look at.. am.. am I just Uri? lol
Uri is also quite compelling for how little she speaks with her voice. Her introspection and vivid (almost surreal) sensory descriptions were just amazing to be enveloped in.
Side note: The whole description of light and how it makes its way into the conscious mind is also hauntingly beautiful.
The interlude sections were really well done, at first I wasn’t sure of when those scenes were taking place but when it becomes clear it really hits.
I feel myself torn between heart-warmed and heart-broken by the story, it will stick with me for a while.
I seriously just can’t get over how good this game looks, from the menus, the fonts, the transitions, the visual effects and the art (the backgrounds, characters and cgs) were all so compelling and had this sort of electric quality to them. I can see myself easily returning to play it again in the future just to look at it more.
thank you so much for all your kind words!!
I'm quite proud of how beautiful the game turned out, RoseMarbles absolutely did an incredible job with the art and I definitely think the UI and scene direction are some of my best ever. I find myself going through scenes just to look at things too hehe (≧ᴗ≦)
